Amazon to open another local fulfillment center

Amazon announced Tuesday that it will open a second Inland Empire fulfillment center, this time in Moreno Valley.

The online retailer, which held the grand opening of its San Bernardino facility Tuesday, hopes to create 1,000 jobs with the new facility, which will cover 1.2 million square feet, according to a release.

“We are excited to grow our presence in the great state of California, bringing more than 1,000 new full-time jobs to Moreno Valley to join the thousands of Californians we employ currently in our fulfillment centers in Patterson, San Bernardino and Tracy,” said Mike Roth, Amazon’s vice president of North America operations said in a release.

Building the new site are Trammell Crow Company and Clarion Partners through a joint venture. This will be Amazon’s fourth fulfillment center in California.
