Apartment complex aimed at millennials

MBK Rental Living, a division of Irvine-based MBK Homes, has begun pre-leasing properties at MetroGateway in Riverside.

The four-story development has 187 apartments and lofts on 4.2 acres next door to the La Sierra Avenue Metrolink station, according to a statement released Wednesday.

It’s designed for millennials and has a number of communal features, including a bike-rental station, a bike repair station, solar carports that help provide electricity for common indoor and outdoor areas and electric car charging stations.

MetroGateway, which is expected to welcome its first residents this month, also has a communal courtyard, two-story fitness center and a pool and spa.

“The Riverside County Transportation Commission is thrilled for this project, with hopes that it will encourage more of our community to take advantage of Riverside’s growing public transit,” said Mark Lancaster, the commission’s right-of-way manager, said in the statement.
