Cardenas to start lottery game

Cardenas Markets will soon launch El Gran Sorteo de Loteria, a scratcher sweepstakes scheduled to run nearly two months.

The game is scheduled to start Wednesday and run through June 1, according to a statement released today by the Ontario-based supermarket chain.

When purchasing products, customers receive one scratcher-game piece for a chance to win either an instant prize, or they are given a game code for a chance to win other prizes. Those opportunities include a chance to play in Cardenas’ Loteria Tournament, in which the prizes include a new car and free groceries for one year.

Cardenas is one of the largest Hispanic supermarket chains in the United States, with stores in California, Arizona and Nevada. It operates 52 Cardenas stores and seven Cardenas Ranch Market stores, according to the statement.
