China Airlines to provide daily service at OIA

China  Airlines has expanded its flights between Ontario and Taiwan to seven days a week.

The flights were originally meant to be four times a week between Ontario International Airport and Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, but demand has been so strong that officials have decided to add three flights, according to a statement released Tuesday.

“We are most grateful to China Airlines and its chairman, Nuan-Hsuan Ho, for their confidence in our airport, employees and community neighbors,” said Alan D. Wapner, president of the Ontario International Airport Authority, in the statement.

“That China Airlines is increasing service before a single flight has lifted off is both uncommon and a testament to the high value of travel between Taiwan and Ontario.”

Daily flights from Taiwan Taoyuan International will arrive at Ontario International at 1:20 p.m., with the return flight leaving at 3:45 p.m. Typically, the flight will last about 14 hours.

China Airlines is the first airline to offer non-stop, trans-oceanic passenger service to Ontario International, according to the statement.
