Disney on Ice to make its annual Ontario stop

For the first time since 2010, “Let’s Celebrate,” the popular Disney On Ice production, is returning to Ontario.

The show, a two-hour extravaganza, opens its four-day run at Citizens Business Bank Arena with a 6pm show on Christmas Day, followed by three performances – at 11am, 3pm and 7pm – on Dec. 26 and Dec. 27.

The final Ontario shows are scheduled for 1pm and 5pm Dec. 28.

“Let’s Celebrate” features 50 Disney characters from 16 Disney stories. Join Mickey and Minnie Mouse on a tour that includes a Halloween Haunt with some Disney villains, a Very Merry Unbirthday Party with Alice in Wonderland and The Mad Hatter, Mardi Gras with Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen and a stop with Woody, Jessy and Buzz Lightyear from “Toy Story.”

Finally, the show ends with a Christmas extravaganza featuring all of the performers in the show.

Disney On Ice brings a show to Citizens Business Bank Arena every holiday season, and every year it’s among the arena’s most popular attractions, said Steve Eckerson the facility’s general manager.

Collectively, the nine performances will attract upwards of 50,000 people. Only the Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus, which performs 10 times during a five-day run at the arena every July, attracts a number similar to the Disney shows, Eckerson said.

“It’s big,” Eckerson said of Disney On Ice, which also performs at Citizens Business Bank Arena every April. “It’s a different show every year, but [Disney] always brings us something. A lot of families come out for these shows.”

Tickets, which range from $22 to $80, can be purchased online www.AXS.com, by phone at 888-9AXS-TIX or at the arena box office.

“Let’s Celebrate” is also appearing in Los Angeles, Long Beach and Anaheim during the holiday season. For more information visit www.DisneyOnIce.com.
