Don’t shrink yourself just so others won’t feel insecure

In Lake Elsinore a memorial is being designed to honor fallen soldiers / heroes, and within the construct of the design there is the cross and Star of David. Even though this country was founded on Judeo-Christian values, a fact that seems to be lost on some people, a small group of atheists are protesting the design and demanding the removal of religious symbols.

The City of Lake Elsinore conceded the fight and has agreed to redesign the statue to address the separation of church and state issue. We should never shrink ourselves so others don’t feel insecure, go shine your own light, and if some don’t agree it doesn’t mean us Christians can’t display our own beliefs. The large amount of power minority groups seem to have is unbelievable, if there’s anything that offends them we aren’t allowed to express ourselves.

The issue of Donald Sterling has everyone in an uproar. Is this man a scumbag? Sure. He’s been married for over 50 years and he’s a known philanderer openly hiring prostitutes, yet no one has a problem with that. But they do have a problem with him exhibiting some jealousy over his girlfriend posting a picture of herself and another man on Instagram and getting grief from his old cronies.

Sterling clearly states in the recording that he has a problem with her “broadcasting” the picture, and that “there’s nothing wrong with minorities, they’re fabulous.” His girlfriend was clearly egging him on as she taped their private conversation.

He’s not a racist. He pays $58 million a year to 5 basketball players and a coach, all of whom are African American. How does that make him a racist? And he’s “dating” a woman who is of mixed descent – Latina and African American. It sounds like he simply has an infatuation with this younger woman and was jealous over her posting a picture of herself and Magic Johnson on Instagram.

Yes, Sterling is a scumbag, but that’s not illegal, nor is it to have an opinion, especially under the assumption of privacy. Ben Shapiro commented on the Sterling issue and pointed out that in this country a person’s thought means more than actions, and what a shame that if you say the wrong thing in the privacy of your own home that becomes more important than the actual actions you make.

People don’t care about anything until you offend the minorities. I say let the free market decide. If you’re a basketball player making an exorbitant amount of money for not really doing anything and you’re offended that he’s still on board, then quit. Those of you fans who don’t want to go see the Clippers play anymore because of Sterling, then don’t. Get over it!

Over a year later new emails have surfaced regarding Benghazi, which John Boehner stated is an example of the government’s contempt for America’s right to know. The first line of Nixon’s impeachment papers read “…abuse of IRS powers…” Obama has done that. Four Americans were killed in Benghazi brutally. Originally Susan Rice was directed by the White House to tell the public that the protests were rooted in an internet video rather than in the failure of the government’s foreign policy. We now have a smoking gun that very well could begin Obama’s impeachment.

Soldiers answer the call to duty regardless of whether they believe in the cause or not. They are fighting against terrorists who are trained to hate non-Muslims. They fight for us, whether you believe in the war or not, they are risking their lives for us and we should take care of our military personnel. This is how this country shows their respect and gratitude: first, veterans’ right to bear arms is threatened if they ever pay a bill late (any type of bill – utility, credit card, mortgage), and now they are dying as they wait to see a doctor.

Phoenix VA scandal broke late last week where dozens of veterans died waiting for health care. The hospital allegedly kept two sets of records – one that reflected the actual, lengthy wait time, and another that showed veterans were seen and treated in a timely manner. For example, a veteran needing physical therapy would have to wait anywhere between 120 – 200 days to begin. A veteran had blood in his urine and it was ten months later that he died – he still hadn’t been able to see a doctor. I think that’s tragic. This should anger you, and this is something to keep an eye on.

Governor Rick Perry hosted a convention last year in California in which he boasted about the business-friendly climate of Texas. He was able to lure businesses away from this state, including a major employer – Toyota, who relocated their headquarters from Torrance to Texas. This has a detrimental effect on the state in the loss of income taxes, not to mention the South Bay community and home prices. This is just another example of a major employer leaving this state for one that is more amenable to businesses. Shame on you Jerry Brown that you’re an idiot and don’t understand how things work.

The First Family is showing their family values yet again. On Easter Monday Michelle Obama was interviewed on the Kelly and Michael show when she told America that the family went to church on Easter Sunday, the one day out of the year they make an effort to attend church. This is a far cry from watching them attend church during Obama’s campaign. And now, Obama’s aunt passed away last month. He refers to her in his autobiography, but when issues arose regarding her illegal immigration status, he shunned her when it became toxic to his political career. The New York Times reported that her bedroom was filled with pictures of Obama, who skipped her funeral services to play a round of golf. This comes after Michelle Obama said it’s better to take naps on Sundays than attend church. How’s the President fundamentally going to change America for the better?

Keep your eyes and ears open. Be mindful. Be watchful.
