Economic panel to advise Riverside County on reopening economy

Riverside County has established an economic recovery task force that will advise the board of supervisors on when, and how, to reopen the local economy.

Business and community leaders from throughout the county make up the task force, which was put together by the five-member board and is expected to be in place for about a year and a half, according to a statement on the county’s website.

The 17-member task force will identify short and long-term strategies to assist the local economy in its recovery from the COVID-19 outbreak.

“An important part of our [recovery] efforts is making sure we are workforce ready and business ready once the state moves into the next phase in its roadmap,” Board Chair and Fourth District Supervisor V. Manuel Perez  said in the statement.

“I envision this local economic recovery team as identifying resources, policies and opportunities that can help the local economy bounce back sooner in the Fourth District and Riverside County as a whole.”
