Inaugural Unite I.E. conference brings conservative groups together

The conservative message in California is not defunct, it is in fact alive and well. This will be spotlighted during the upcoming inaugural Unite I.E. Conservative Conference on Saturday, May 17 at the Fox Riverside Performing Arts Center. The event marks the initial gathering of the newly formed Unite I.E., a coordinating body for a coalition of two dozen conservative groups from San Bernardino and Riverside counties.

This year’s theme is “Protecting the American Dream,” selected as a wake-up call that California is not lost to conservative principles and to encourage people to get into the game and get involved. The conference is co-hosted by local news talk station AM590 The Answer KTIE, and will feature over a dozen prominent names in the grassroots movement including Dinesh D’Souza, Evan Sayat, Ann Coulter and more during the day-long event.

Coulter, a columnist and frequent commentator on Fox News, and D’Souza, who wrote and produced the documentary 2016: Obama’s America, will be headlining the event. Other speakers include leading Republican gubernatorial Tim Donnelly and Pete Peterson, as well as Pasadena Tea Party leader Mike Alexander.

According to Don Dix, United I.E. cofounder, the coalition was born from a conversation last summer among leaders of different community and grassroots groups in the Inland Empire who realized their individual efforts would be better realized if they banded together. In addition, they wanted to reach out to people in the community who are frustrated and lack the wherewithal to connect with active groups in the Inland Empire. The coalition held its first meeting last September and was officiated the next month. Unite I.E. can be heard each Saturday at 11:30 a.m. on AM590.

“We get together monthly to share best practices and to get the word out to the community that we exist and to make them aware that we’re here actively to fix the problems plaguing this country,” Dix explained. “Conservative groups by nature are independent and a coalition of leaders of those groups will go a long way to share what works.”

In addition to connecting community members to conservative groups, the event will also educate interested community members on how they can become involved in turning the tide around in California, said Brad Anderson, General Sales Manager of AM590 The Answer. Rather than complain about the state of politics and business, the event will encourage voters to be a part of the solution.

During the event a variety of conservative Unite I.E. groups will staff tables to visit with attendees. They will promote candidates and causes as well as circulate petitions requiring California voters to show photo ID when they vote, as well as redistributing how the Golden State awards is 55 Electoral College votes in 2016.

“We were out-organized in 2008 and 2012,” reflected Dix. “We will use the event as a place to gather and to connect with the community. I haven’t been this excited about being a conservative in decades.”

Unite I.E. Conservative Conference will take place from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Fox Riverside Performing Arts Center, 3801 Mission Inn Ave. Tickets are $70 VIP – lunch with speakers, front seating; $35 preferred general admission; $25 general admission.
