Inland housing agencies receive grants

Three housing rehabilitation agencies in the Inland Empire have received grants from the Wells Fargo Housing Foundation.

Habitat for Humanity Riverside received $100,000, while HomeStrong USA/Hometown Community Development Corp. and National Community Renaissance, both in Rancho Cucamonga, received $50,000 each, according a foundation statement.

The grants are typically used for basic home improvements, like replacing a roof, in lower-income communities, said Stephanie Grant, spokeswoman for the foundation.

The foundation has invested more than $150 million in community revitalization and has rehabilitated more than 5,500 homes since it was founded in 1993.

It distributed $6 million worth of grants to nearly 70 agencies nationwide in its 2015 Priority Markets Program, according to the statement.
