Inland school rated good for veterans

Norco College is apparently a good place to go to school if you’re a veteran.

For the fourth time in five years, the school has been ranked “Best For Vets” by Military Times, an online publication that covers all branches of the U.S. armed forces.

Nationwide, Norco College ranked 12th among 33 community colleges nationwide. In California it was first among three two-year colleges that were determined to be good schools for military veterans to attend.

Norco College has a 73 percent retention rate and a 67 percent graduation rate among veterans, according to a statement.

More than 200 two and four-year colleges were surveyed, along with some online schools and career technical colleges. All were evaluated based on culture, academic quality, policies, student support, cost to attend and availability of financial aid.

Data from the federal departments of defense, education and veterans affairs were also used in the survey, according to the statement.
