Logistics center vote delayed

The Eastvale City Council has postponed its decision on a major warehouse-distribution development.

By a 3-2 vote, the council decided Wednesday not to vote on the Goodman Commerce Center, a proposed 2.7-million-square-foot project, according to a report published in The Press-Enterprise.

Council members delayed their vote after receiving a letter from Briggs Law Corp. in Upland on behalf of residents at Eastvale Estates.

The project would be built on 205 acres across from Eastvale Estates, a community between Interstate 15 and Prado Regional Park. In the letter, residents of Eastvale Estates raised questions about the environmental damage the project could cause in their neighborhoods and asked that the project be denied, according to the report.

Council members Jeff DeGrandpre and Adam Rush cast the dissenting votes. No new date for a vote was scheduled.
