Lowe’s temporary hires will include Inland Empire

Lowe’s plans to hire more than 53,000 full and part-time seasonal employees to help with its annual springtime rush, the company has announced.

More than 3,700 of those hires will be in California, including 650 at stores in Riverside and San Bernardino counties, said Steve Salazar, spokesman for the North Carolina-based home improvement store chain.

Lowe’s seasonal jobs usually run from March to September. Cashiers, lawn and garden associates, stockers, freight loaders and people who assemble outdoor products are among the jobs available this year.

Last year, Lowe’s hired roughly 45,000 seasonal employees, 40 percent of which ended up with a full-time or part-time position, Salazar said.

Seasonal employees get competitive pay, flexible hours and a 10 percent employee discount, among other benefits, according to Salazar.

Lowe’s employs approximately 250,000 people. It has stores in the United States, Canada and Mexico and serves more than 17 million customers a week, according to a statement.
