NAIOP’s annual look at Inland economy scheduled

NAIOP Inland Empire will hold its annual Mid-Year Market Review June 19 at the Ontario Convention Center.

Chris Thornberg, economist and founding partner with Beacon Economics LLC in Los Angeles, will lead a discussion on the state of the Inland Empire economy and how it’s influencing commercial real estate.

Thornberg will also focus on the Inland logistics industry, both its performance as the region moves out of recession and its importance to the economies of Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

“It’s an often-discussed topic, but it’s still important,” said Thornberg regarded in business and academic circles as one of the leading economists in California. “It’s one of the major elements of the Inland economy.”

Beacon Economics recently hired David Taussig & Associates, an urban economics consulting firm in Newport Beach, to study the current state of the Inland logistics industry and its impact on the local economy.

Jeff Cole, executive director on capital markets with Cushman & Wakefield; Peter McWilliams, managing director with Jones, Lang LaSalle; William Heim, executive vice president and principal with Lee & Associates and Kim Snyder, president of Prologis’ southwest region, will serve as panelists.

The convention center is at 200 Convention Center Way. The event is scheduled for 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. To register or to purchase a sponsorship please visit www.naiopie.org, [email protected] or call (951) 324-0350.
