Neale and Patricia Perkins have received the Captain Leland F. Norton Award from Stater Bros. Charities.
The Lake Arrowhead couple was recognized for Safariland, the global manufacturer and distributor of law enforcement equipment and automobile accessories that Neale founded, and the Mountain Communities Scholarship Society that they both started, according to a statement.
The scholarship society raises money to pay for scholarships at Cal State San Bernardino. So far it has paid for 220 scholarships.
