On The Move

Alex Meyerhoff has resigned as Hemet’s city manager.

Meyerhoff stepped down earlier this month after 20 months on the job, according to multiple reports.

Police Chief Dave Brown was named acting city manager, a position he held in March 2015. Hemet has had six full-time city managers since 2000, and 11 people have held that position during that 17-year period.

Meyerhoff will be on administrative leave until early next month and will receive a buyout equal to two months salary. He was being paid $200,000 per year.

Meyerhoff gave no reason for his resignation, although a city statement called the move “an amicable separation” that both parties agreed upon, according to the reports.
