Ontario gets corporate HQ

A manufacturer of electronic signs used by theaters and other businesses has moved its corporate headquarters to Ontario.

Optec Displays Inc. will move from the City of Industry to a new 81,000-square-foot building at 1700 S. De Soto Place, according to a statement on the company’s website.

The move was completed earlier this month.

About 75 people will work at the facility, which will house the company’s administrative offices and be used for tech support, research and development, engineering and product assembly, according to the statement.

“We have been looking forward to this move for a very long time,” said Shu Wu, Optec Displays’ chief executive officer, in the statement. “Our City of Industry headquarters has served us well for the past five years, but we have simply outgrown it. To keep up with increasing demand, we need more room.”

Optec Displays was founded in 1985. It manufactures electronic displays designed to be seen from far away. Its products have been used by McDonald’s, Burger King, Carl’s Jr., Golden Nugget Casino, the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and the Orange County Fairgrounds, according to the statement.
