Palm Springs starts search for city manager

The Palm Springs City Council is asking for the public’s help in finding a new city manager.

City officials are conducting a nationwide search to replace David H. Ready, who is retiring at the end of this year after 21 years on the job, according to a statement on the city’s website.

To help with that effort, the city has set up a survey regarding its higher priorities and what kind of leader it hopes to find. To take the survey, visit palmspringsca.gov and click “In the Spotlight” on the front page. The submission deadline is 5 p.m. Friday.

“The selection of our next city manager is perhaps one of the most important decisions this current council will ever make,” said Councilman Dennis Woods in the statement.” It is therefore imperative we have the involvement of our community in this process.”

Woods serves on the hiring subcommittee with Mayor pro tem Lisa Middleton.
