Flight Schools hit the Inland Empire.001
Flight Schools hit the Inland Empire.001

Want To Learn To Fly… What Are You Doing Tomorrow at 10:00AM?

How can a predicted Pilot Shortage, the lead guitarist from Hanson, and an Event January 25, 2014 at Cal Baptist University come together to benefit the local economy and bring good paying jobs to the Inland Empire… Well, although this sounds like the making of a blockbuster movie with multiple story lines all converging, this is actually happening.

Leading industry speaker, aviator and Sun ‘n Fun’s Honorary Outreach Ambassador, Ravi “The Raviator”, launches an unprecedented national outreach effort on behalf of general aviation. The first event, designed to stimulate and inspire those dreamers who have always wanted to be a pilot, lands at Cal Baptist University (8432 Magnolia Avenue, Riverside, California) on January 25, 2014, from 10:00 to 11:00. Along with two other events in Riverside before the tour moves on to Washington DC and Chicago IL areas.

Inspired by Boeing’s predicted pilot shortage of 460,000 by 2031, FAA’s reported 41% decline in private pilot certificate issuance over the past decade, and AOPA’s 80% student dropout statistic, Ravi conceived the “You Can Do It” tour as a multi-layered program to bring aviation to people, including a support system to engage and develop their interest.

These free events which include great prizes are coordinated with the assistance of the National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI), and made possible by Sporty’s Foundation, Lightspeed Aviation Foundation, and Sennheiser Aviation–bringing competitors together to boost general aviation is part of the mission. Each location includes a presentation at a flight school, high school, and public off-airport venue. The flight school events are exclusively for local aviation communities during which Ravi makes essential observations from “the customer point of view” and invites fellow pilots to come together and brainstorm creative solutions to improve the training experience and aviation’s accessibility.

An accomplished musician who shot to worldwide fame as the guitarist for the 90’s band Hanson, Ravi has performed on stages ranging from Saturday Night Live to the Louisiana Superdome. He leverages his passion for music and keen entrepreneurial insight to bring the benefits of general aviation into mainstream public consciousness and has been nominated as “GA Up and Coming Star” for General Aviation News.
