Pomona to develop low-income housing

The Pomona City Council has cleared the way for construction of a 62-unit housing development.

Council members Monday approved a zoning change that will allow the removal of rundown trailer park in the 900 block of West Holt Avenue, clearing space for the residential development, according to a report originally published in the Daily Bulletin.

The $20 million project will include one, two and three-bedroom units that will be available to low and moderate-income residents, according to the report.

Pomona bought the property seven years ago. Groundbreaking is scheduled for March 2015 with the project ready for occupancy one year after that, according to the report.
