SB County has new supplier for COVID-19 testing

San Bernardino County has contracted with a new company to ensure it has enough COVID-19 testing equipment.

The county, which is asking all of its residents to get tested even if they’re not showing symptoms, has signed on with Fulgent Genetics, a Temple City testing company that provides diagnostic testing, according to a statement on the county’s website.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“Now that our testing capacity has expanded and stabilized, we hope that every resident, regardless of whether they have experienced any symptoms, will make an appointment to get tested,” Supervisor Curt Hagman said in the statement.

“Testing is free, painless, takes only a few minutes, and can be obtained without a doctor’s prescription.”

Testing sites have been set up in Fontana, Hesperia, Montclair, Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, Redlands, Rialto, San Bernardino, and the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton. Tests, and other services, are available to underserved and vulnerable populations at county health centers in Adelanto, Hesperia, Ontario, and San Bernardino.

Residents may visit the County’s Testing Sites webpage to see all testing options and to schedule an appointment.
