Sprouts to open its first Moreno Valley store

Sprouts Famers Market is coming to Moreno Valley.

The store,  the chain’s first in the city, will be at The District commercial project, according to a statement on the city’s website.

Construction is scheduled to start this summer, with the store expected to open in 2022.

“We’re very pleased that Sprouts has chosen to locate in our community,” said Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez, in the statement. “Our residents will appreciate having yet another excellent choice when it comes to grocery shopping, specifically in terms of healthy foods.”

The District, at Heacock Avenue and the 60 Freeway, is the former Festival Center. It is being renovated by Ledo Capital Group, which is trying to create “a Class-A mixed-use project that provides local commercial job opportunities,” according to the statement.

Sprouts and Floor & Decor will be the primary anchor tenants at The District.

Sprouts is based in Phoenix. It sells produce and other health foods and operates nearly 350 stores across the United States, according to the statement.

  1. Instead of building a new store, I wish they would use one of the existing, empty ones, like Stater Brothers or Ralph’s.
