Stater Bros. makes charitable donation

Stater Bros. Charities, the charitable arm of Stater Bros. Markets, has donated $53,624 to the U.S. Marine Corp.’s Toys for Tots program.

This is the ninth year that Stater Bros. has given money at Christmas to Toys for Tots, and this year’s donation was more than double the amount the supermarket chain has donated in the past, according to a Stater Bros. release.

Staters Bros. officials presented the check to representatives from the program earlier this week.

The money will be used to purchase thousands of toys, which will be distributed to community based organizations in San Bernardino and Riverside counties. From there, toys will be given to families in need, according to the release.

The donation was raised through a partnership between Stater Bros. and five national brand manufacturers: Church & Dwight, ConAgra Foods, General Mills, Nestle and PepsiCo.

Stater Bros. customers also support Toys for Tots when they purchase select Stater Bros. brands or national brand products, according to the release.
