Stater Bros. names executive VP

David Harris has been named executive vice president for finance, chief financial officer and principal accounting officer for State Bros. Markets.

Harris, who has worked for the San Bernardino-based supermarket chain since 2009, has worked in accounting and auditing for nearly 30 years, according to a Stater Bros. release.

Last year he was promoted to Stater Bros.’ senior vice president of finance, chief financial officer and principal accounting officer. Before joining the supermarket chain he was a partner with Ernst & Young in Riverside, and he was managing partner of the accounting firm’s Riverside office before it merged with the Irvine office.

Harris will report to Jack Brown, Stater Bros.’ chairman and chief executive officer, according to the statement.

Stater Bros. operates 167 supermarkets and employs more than 18,000 people. It’s the largest privately owned supermarket chain in Southern California and the largest private employer in the Inland Empire.
