Truck terminal opens

A company that carries refrigerated products has opened a truck terminal on a 34-acre site in Colton.

C.R. England’s facility at 2250 S. Riverside Ave. includes a 30,000-square-foot maintenance facility with eight service bays, and an 18,000-square-foot resource center, according to a company release.

The resource center, which opened earlier this month, includes a driver training facility, television and game rooms and an exercise facility. It can accommodate more than 250 tractors and 350 trailers and will employ about 100 people, according to a report in The Press-Enterprise.

C.R. England wants to provide a “world-class experience” for its employees, whether they’re drivers, non-drivers or independent contractors, said Brandon Harrison, C.R. England’s chief operating officer, in a statement.

Based in Salt Lake City, C.R. England is one of the largest carries of refrigerated goods in the United States. It employs about 7,550 people and generates about $1 billion in sales, according to the report.
