Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday Morning at 9:30 on AM590

Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday morning at 9:30 on AM590 with host Ed Hoffman as he discusses national current events and politics, with a few mortgage tips along the way. Ed delivers intelligent, entertaining radio that makes hard news easy to understand!

This week, Ed and guest Scott MacAfee begin the show with personal anecdotes. Both have had heated discussions with friends and family recently when it comes to the gay marriage decision made by the Supreme Court. If you want intelligent, insightful discourse on the matter, tune in to The Main Event this week.

Next, Ed addresses the Oklahoma Supreme Court decision this week that a Ten Commandments monument at the state capitol must come down because it was “obviously religious in nature and an integral part of the Jewish and Christian faiths.” In response, Ed reads all Ten Commandments on the air to illustrate that only four out of ten are “overtly religious in nature.” As the first half winds down, Ed also discusses the demise of our democracy at the hands of our nation’s state and federal courts.

In the second half, Ed and Scott discuss New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s presidential candidacy. In response to the portion of Christie’s speech that outlined his accomplishments as governor, Ed feels Christie is too “me-me-me,” while Scott agrees but points out he has done a good job at being a Republican governor in a historically blue state. Christie’s comment that Americans are “not angry” but simply anxious is something that Ed disagrees with: “I’m angry! But America in general, they’re clueless. So maybe that’s the anxiety he’s talking about.” Ed’s own experience talking to millennials has him thinking that maybe Christie is onto something. He feels that overall, Christie’s speech had too many platitudes that sounded too much like his fellow candidates, i.e. Marco Rubio.

Next it’s on to discussing Hillary Clinton, who seems to be immune to the same criticisms Republicans receive; Hillary gets no accusations of “privilege” from the media, and Americans seem to be oblivious to her immense wealth. The group Campus Reform just released a video it shot in D.C., where young millennial voters were shown photos of four East Coast mansions and asked which presidential candidates own them. The participants made guesses like Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, Ben Carson and Donald Trump, because they presume Republican candidates to be extraordinarily wealthy. When these young voters found out which presidential candidate really owns all four mansions – Hillary Clinton – they were shocked. If you haven’t seen this incredible video yet, tune in to The Main Event this week to hear their reactions! It may restore your faith in the next generation.

On this week’s show, you’ll also hear:

  • More analysis of Hillary Clinton’s incompetency, from the notorious emails to cabinet meeting blunders
  • How much Chelsea Clinton is paid per minute to speak to university audiences
  • Details of the Push-Ups for Charity event at Wholesale Capital Corporation in Moreno Valley on July 25th
