Fontana Mayor Acquanetta Warren has been named to the state Housing, Economic Development, Jobs and Opportunity Zone Ad Hoc Committee.

Warren will join 11 other public officials who will assist State Treasurer Fiona Ma to meet her housing and economic development goals, according to a statement.

Those goals include building more houses, increasing housing production, making better use of resources during housing production, and getting people more involved in the development of their communities.

“Affordable and accessible housing is a statewide issue, and I am eager to represent Fontana at the forefront of creating solutions that will not only make a difference for the City of Fontana, but for the State of California,” Warren said in the statement.

Warren is the only mayor appointed to the committee, according to the statement.
