Barrett named executive director for Palm Springs Airport

Harry Barrett has been named executive director of Palm Springs International Airport.

Barrett, who has been the city-owned airport’s interim executive director since December, was hired as the airport’s deputy director of operations and maintenance in April 2020, according to statement on the city’s website.

He was appointed assistant airport director in July 2021. As executive director, Barrett oversees a $27 million operating budget and is in charge of the airport’s financial and capital programs.

Barrett recently launched three airlines at Palm Springs International and is currently negotiating airline-use agreements between 13 airlines.

“Harry Barrett’s knowledge and expertise about the operations and projects ongoing at Palm Springs International Airport make him the right choice to serve as our next executive director,” said City Manager Justin Clifton in the statement.
