Carter’s opens High Desert store

Carter’s Inc., the designer and manufacturer of children’s clothing, has opened a store in Hesperia.

The popular chain recently began operating a 4,400-square-foot shop at High Desert Gateway, a shopping center at Main Street and Cataba Road, according to Lewis Retail Centers in Upland.

Lewis Retail developed High Desert Gateway, which covers 370,400 square feet next to Interstate 15. It is near the entrance of an area called the High Desert Trade Area, and its tenants include Target, Ross Dress For Less, Marshall’s and JOANN, the fabric and crafts store.

Based in Atlanta, Carter’s supplies clothing for infants and younger children to some of the largest retailers in North America, including Target, Walmart and Amazon. It operates more than 1,000 stores in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, according to the company’s website.
