UCR admits record number of undergraduates

UC Riverside admitted 74,340 undergraduate students for the fall 2026 semester, breaking the record 71,069 admissions it set one year ago.

UC Riverside lead the nine UC undergraduate campuses in three admissions categories: first-year California residents, first-generation students, and low-income students, according to a statement on UC Riverside’s website.

It was also second in total first-year admissions. The admittance data was released July 29.

“I am proud to admit the largest first-year class in UC Riverside’s history, and to lead the UC system in enrolling California residents this year,” said Emily Engelschall, associative vice chancellor for enrollment services, in the statement.

“This milestone reflects that families across the country understand that UCR offers an exceptional return on investment, and that we pair world-class academics with robust campus support systems.”

UC Riverside also admitted the largest number of women, Black, Hispanic, and Asian students for the fall semester, according to the statement.
