Claudia Davis, an associate professor of nursing at Cal State San Bernardino, has been recognized for her research by the American Association for Cancer Research.
Earlier this month, Davis received the association’s 2020 Minority and Minority Serving Institution Faculty Scholar in Cancer Research, according to a statement on the university’s website.
Davis, who also won the award two years ago, presented her research – “The Impact of Socioeconomic Position and the Burden of Chronic Stress on the Quality of Life among Black Breast Cancer Survivors in California” – at a virtual conference earlier this month.
“I am deeply honored and thankful that the association recognized my scientific contributions, which are relevant to the communities that I serve,” Davis said in the statement. “My findings will be more widely known in the scientific literature.”
Recipients of the award are assistant professor or above who have conducted engaged in meritorious basic, clinical, or translational cancer research, according to the association’s website.
