Logistic conference scheduled

The Inland Empire chapter of APICS, a major trade association for supply chain and operations professionals, will host a meeting on global supply chain trends and strategies.

The APICS-IE Spring Symposium: Disruptive Innovation in Logistics is scheduled to be held May 6 at Eagle Glen Golf Club in Corona, according to a statement.

Panelists will include Dr. Genevieve Giuliano, director of Metrans; Mark Hirzel, customs broker for A.N. Deringer Inc.;  Lupe Valdez, public affairs director for Union Pacific Railroad and Heidi Chance, division manager at Yamaha Motor Corp. USA.

The conference will address which logistical changes matter most and how to prepare a supply chain for the latest changes within the industry.

“We have an amazing panel of experts to help our attendees meet the challenges of disruptive change,” said Lisa Anderson, chapter president and the head of LMA Consulting Group in Claremont, in the statement.” With their leadership and insights, manufacturing and logistics professionals will be able to anticipate and plan for the innovations they need to stay competitive and relevant.”

The event will be held from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Cost is $20 for members, $25 for non-members with students admitted free. Breakfast buffet is included.
