A company that manufactures medical devices used in respiratory and acute care has leased an industrial building in Moreno Valley.
New Zealand-based Fisher & Paykel Healthcare moved into a 125,000-square-foot industrial building at 24950 Grove View Ave. last weekend, Mike Lee, the city’s economic development director, said.
Fisher & Paykel, whose products are also used during surgery and while treating sleep apnea, moved part of its warehouse-distribution operation from Irvine, bringing with it about 25 employees, Lee said.
The company, which is expected to apply for a foreign trade zone designation, is looking to hire more logistics workers, and it could add some manufacturing jobs at its new facility later this year, Lee said.
“We’ve gotten Deckers Outdoor and Aldi Foods within the last year,” Lee said of the businesses from Australia and Germany, respectively, that have established logistics operations in Moreno Valley. “We’re becoming an attractive place for international companies.”
