Moreno Valley to host public safety expo

Moreno Valley will hold its fifth annual Public Safety Exposition next month.

The event is scheduled to be held from 10 a.m. to 2  p.m. April 14 at the Moreno Valley Civic Center, 22850 Calle San Juan de Los Lagos, according to a statement.

Police and firefighters will stage several demonstrations, including fire suppression and car cutting, sidewalk cardiopulmonary resuscitation and how to use an automated external defibrillator.

Also, there will be a K-9 unit demonstration, and a Hazardous Device Team robot will maneuver and show how it evaluates potentially dangerous objects.

The exposition will feature food, music and prizes. Job seekers will be able to gather information regarding a career with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, CAL Fire/Riverside County Fire Department and several other public agencies that serve Moreno Valley.

Representatives from the U.S. Army, Navy and Marine Corp. will also be in attendance to talk about potential military careers.

Free parking will be available at the civic center and the Moreno Valley Conference and Recreation Center.
