Riverside’s 5K Walk to End Homelessness will be held April 14 at Fairmount Park.
Several hundred adults, students and children participate in the annual event, which this year hopes to raise $35,000, according to a statement.
“Our neighbors without homes need our help as they work to get their lives back on track,” Mayor Rusty Bailey said in the statement. “The Walk to End Homelessness is a great opportunity for Riverside [residents] to come together and raise funds that will help end homelessness.”
Registration starts at 7 a.m., with the walk scheduled to begin one hour later at the park’s bandshell. Participants will walk around Lake Evans and finish near the bandshell, which is in the park’s southeast corner.
Registration is $35 for adults, $20 for students with a valid student identification and $5 for anyone under 18 years old. Three levels of sponsorship – a family for $5,000, an individual for $2,500 and a youth for $1,000 – are available.
Fairmount Park is at 2601 Fairmount Blvd.
