Parts of the 60 Freeway in Moreno Valley will be closed for two nights later this month to accommodate the Moreno Beach Drive Bridge project.
The closure dates have been approved by the California Department of Transportation but are subject to change, according to a statement on the city’s website.
Scheduled closings, all of which will run from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., are:
- March 18: All westbound lanes of the 60 freeway at Moreno Beach Drive;
- March 19: All eastbound lanes of the 60 freeway at Moreno Beach Drive;
- March 18 and 19: Moreno Beach Drive from Ironwood Avenue to Eucalyptus Avenue.
The Moreno Beach Bridge project will replace the two-lane bridge with a seven-lane bridge. The larger bridge will have better safety features, simpler on and off ramps and storm drains that will control flooding.
During the closures, a temporary support system will be put up to allow for construction of the bridge/’s west side above the 60 Freeway, according to the statement.
