Mag Instrument Inc. has entered into a sponsorship agreement with The American Veterans Center and National Memorial Day Parade.
The Ontario company, which makes heavy-duty flashlights used by law enforcement and the military, will help veterans attend and be honored at today’s annual event in Washington, D.C., among other efforts, according to a statement.
Besides a cash donation, Mag Instrument will sell a commemorative flashlight, with a percentage of those sales to be donated to the veterans center.
“I have deep feelings and great respect for all veterans,” said Tony Maglica, president, owner and founder of MAG Instrument, in the statement. “I am so pleased that we have been able to partner with The American Veterans Center in their efforts to make sure the greatest generation of World War II veterans are honored and that their sacrifice is not forgotten.”
This year is the 150th anniversary of Memorial Day, which was originally called Decoration Day when it was started after the Civil War. The parade is held on the National Mall.
