Moreno Valley lands KIA dealership

A Kia automobile dealership is coming to Moreno Valley.

Car Pros, the largest franchised Kia retailer in the United States, will open a 41,511-square-foot facility in the Moreno Valley Auto Mall, according to a statement released by the city.

The dealership, at northeast corner of Moreno Beach Drive and Auto Mall Drive, will include a service facility that can accommodate up to 23 vehicles.

Phase one of the project, which was recently approved by the city, will include a two-story automotive showroom that covers nearly 23,858 square feet, and the service facility. Phase two will add 17,653 square feet to the showroom and office space, and 10 service bays.

“When Kia approached us about the opportunity in Moreno Valley, we couldn’t have been more excited,” Car Pros Chief Executive Officer Matthew Phillips said in the statement. “We love what’s going on in this town. We love the location and the growth in population and jobs.”

The dealership is expected to employ up to 100 people and generate substantial sales tax revenue, Mayor Yxstian A. Gutierrez said in the statement.

Construction is expected to start later this year, with Car Pros KIA Moreno Valley expected to open next summer, according to the statement.
