An instructor at Mountain View Middle School in Beaumont has been named the 2014 Middle School Educator of the Year by the California League of Middle Schools.
Jonathan Brubaker, who teaches seventh-grade English and is also a department head at Mountain View, was selected from among 70 other teachers throughout California, according to a report first published in The Press-Enterprise.
Brubaker, 38, was nominated by Tyson Lingenfelter, Mountain View’s principal.
Brubaker has taught at the school for seven years and is the first instructor in the district to be given the Region 10 and state Educator of the Year awards, according to the report.
