UC Riverside has been ranked 54th among the top 100 universities in the United States by Washington Monthly magazine.
The 2021 National University rankings examine four-year public and private institutions whose primary focus is awarding bachelor’s degrees, according to the magazine, which recently published the rankings on its website.
Each school is ranked based on three categories: social mobility, research, and promoting public service.
UC Riverside ranked 53rd, in between the Georgia Institute of Technology and Cal State Fresno.
Stanford, MIT, Duke, Wisconsin-Madison, Harvard, Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins, Illinois Urbana-Champaign North Carolina-Chapel Hills and California Berkeley made up the top 10.
California State San Bernardino also earned recognition from Washington Monthly, a nonprofit magazine that reports on government and politics: it ranked seventh out of 616 colleges in the magazine’s Masters University Program and ninth out of 215 western colleges in the “Best Bang for the Buck” category.
