Cardenas Markets is now providing a same-day delivery service.
The Hispanic supermarket chain has partnered with Shipt, a grocery delivery service in Birmingham, Ala.
The deliveries, sometimes made within an hour of the order being placed, began Sept. 1, said Marisa Kutansky, director of communications for the Ontario-based Cardenas.
“More people prefer to shop online now, and we’re doing everything we can to accommodate them,” Kutansky said.
Data regarding how many people are using the service was not available.
New customers may sign up and learn about availability in their area by visiting shipt.com/cardenasmarkets or by downloading the Shipt app.
Shipt is a subsidiary of Target Corp. It operates independently and is available in more than 5,000 U.S. cities, according to the statement.
