Angela Allen has been named director of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Cal State San Bernardino’s Palm Desert Campus.
“I am very excited to move forward the excellent OLLI program,” Allen said in a statement on the university’s website. “I hope to bring some fresh ideas that will provide exciting new learning experiences for our mature community.”
For the past 10 years, Allen has been development manager at the Palm Desert office of Olive Crest, an outreach program for troubled and abuse youth.
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is a program designed for adults 50 and older who want to learn strictly for fun. OLLI offers non-credit, university-level courses without grades, tests or homework.
Course topics include the arts, history, literature, economics, natural sciences and philosophy.
