Feeding America Riverside/San Bernardino has received a $5,000 grant from the National Association of Theatre Owners California Nevada.
The Inland Empire’s premiere food bank was one of 20 Feeding America organizations to receive the grants, which support arts and social service organizations, according to a statement.
“Food Insecurity is at the center of the many issues our Inland Empire region faces,” said Carolyn Solar, chief executive officer of Feed America Riverside/San Bernardino, in the statement. “This support will ensure that fewer have to choose between feeding their family and paying essential bills.”
Founded in 1980, Feeding America Riverside/San Bernardino works with food pantries, soup kitchens, elementary schools, senior centers and after-school programs. It distributes more than two million pounds of food a month throughout Riverside and San Bernardino counties, helping to feed more than 1.2 million people a year, according to the statement.
