A Santa Ana company will oversee all traffic signals in the San Bernardino Valley and develop a master plan for signal maintenance throughout San Bernardino County.
Iteris, which maintains and improves mobility infrastructure, will be paid $2.5 million by the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority to perform both of those tasks, according to a statement.
The contract was announced last month.
Iteris’ specific duties haven’t been determined but may include training agency staff, managing corridor upgrades, procuring equipment, putting in signal performance software, and developing coordinated signal timing plans.
A project of this size will go a long way in making mobility safer, more efficient, and more sustainable in California,” said Scott Carlson, Iteris’ vice president, and general manager, in the statement. “This is an initiative that will serve the community for decades to come.”
