Harry Barrett, Jr., executive director of Palm Springs International Airport, has been elected to the American Association of Airport Executives’ board of directors.
During his two-year term, Barrett will help lead the association’s efforts to promote diversity and equity in aviation, in addition to his regular duties as a board member, according to a statement on the airport’s website.
“I’m honored to have been elected to the board of the American Association of Airport Executives,” Barrett said in the statement. “Working alongside some of the brightest minds in our industry, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of airport management practices.
Barrett has spent 15 years in aviation management, both civilian and military, and seven years as a military pilot.
