Adolfo Velazquez has been named director of community relations and philanthropy at Cal State San Bernardino’s Palm Desert campus.
Besides building partnerships with alumni, corporations, and government entities, Velazquez will work to find “philanthropic avenues” that will benefit the Coachella Valley branch campus, according to a statement.
A Coachella Valley native, Velazquez has been in charge of grant fund development at Pueblo Unido Community Development Corp., in La Quinta. He has also been in charge of fundraising at California Indian Nations College in Palm Desert.
“Adolfo’s experience and leadership will help enhance our relationships with desert cities and community organizations,” said Robert J. Nava, vice president for university advancement, in the statement.
