Art Tinoco has been named Riverside County’s registrar of voters.
Tinoco, who has been interim registrar for the past two months, was named permanent registrar by the board of supervisors on Dec. 12, according to a statement on the county’s website.
“After conducting a recruitment, it became clear that we could rely on Art to continue leading the department into the future,” said Kevin Jeffries, board chair in the statement. “Art is a committed public servant who knows how to conduct complex elections. He is also moving the department towards more timely results, building enhanced community outreach and trust with the community.”
Tinoco, a county employee for more than 21 years, was assistant registrar for eight years before being named interim registrar, according to the statement.
