Maribel Hernandez has been appointed Barstow’s city clerk services manager.
Hernandez, who has worked as an executive assistant to the city council and city manager, in her new job will prepare agendas and minutes, oversee municipal elections, ensure compliance with the Brown Act, Public Records Act and Fair Political Practices Commission regulations, and manage the city’s records retention and general liability programs, according to a statement on the city’s website.
“Maribel’s promotion is a testament to her hard work and dedication to the Barstow, and her experience and leadership abilities make her the perfect fit for this role,” said Interim City Manager Andrew Espinoza Jr. in the statement.
“I have full confidence in Maribel’s ability to excel in her new position and contribute to the success of our community.”
