A Corona nonprofit has received $130,000 to help pay for affordable housing for homeless young people.
Inspire Life Skills Training, Inc., received the grant from the American Rescue Plan Act, which took the funding from its Emergency Shelter/Resilience Project, according to a statement.
Inspire provides stable and affordable housing, mentoring and mental health counseling to former foster or homeless youth between the ages of 18 and 26. All who receive assistance must be at or below the poverty level and have no family support.
This year’s grant will help assist 22-26 disadvantaged youth who have signed up with Inspire Life Skills Training, which was founded in 2005. Its goal is to help disadvantaged young people to break the cycles of abuse and homelessness and improve their immediate and future well-being, according to the statement.
