Constructions starts on RUHS healthcare campus

An 18-acre healthcare campus is under construction in Mead Valley.

The Wellness Village, which is being built by the Riverside University Health System, will put behavioral health treatment, medical care and social service in one place, according to a statement on Riverside County’s website.

The $580 million facility, which is expected to be completed in 2026, will be “an all-inclusive approach (to healthcare) that addresses all levels of care, from outpatient treatment to supportive housing,” the statement reads.

Services offered will include the county’s first Children’s Crisis Residential Program, and mental health urgent care for children less than 13 years old. Right now, children that age must be taken outside the county to receive that care.

The campus will also provide primary and specialty medical care, dental services, substance abuse treatment, and a pharmacy.

“The Wellness Village will provide an environment where community members can access diverse healthcare services close to home,” said Supervisors Kevin Jeffries in the statement. “This project demonstrates our commitment to improving health outcomes and ensuring no family has to leave the county to receive essential care.”
