Stater Bros. will build a store at at the northeast corner of the 210 Freeway and Greenspot Road in Highland.
The store will anchor the Greenspot Crossings shopping center, which broke ground in March and is under construction, according to a company statement released July 31.
The new store will replace the Stater Bros. market at 3633 Highland Ave., which opened in 1979. Opening and closing dates have not been established.
It will cover about 40,000 square feet, roughly twice the size of of the Highland Avenue store.
“Stater Bros. is excited to be a part of the rapid growth and continued development of the city of Highland,” said Pete Van Helden, the San Bernardino-based company’s chief executive officer, in the statement.
Employees at the Highland Avenue store will be offered jobs at other Stater Bros. markets, according to the statement.
Building is already in progress at the northeast corner with other vendors. Ground breaking just began with the new Costco more toward the middle of the area. And there is another Stater Brothers about 1-1/2 miles east of that location already on Greenspot Road. Will that store be affected? The story should have included an up to date map of the current situation.
That’s funny because I just talked to the manager of the Highland and Palm store and he said his stores closing was just a rumor. He said why would stater’s close his store when it’s still a money maker.
When was the last time a Store Manager told you the truth?
